As I type I am listening to You Are My King by Newsboys. The song says “Amazing love, how can it be that you my king should die for me. Amazing love I know it’s true and its my joy to honor you.” Have you ever stopped to think about what God did for us? He sent his one and only son to die for us, to save the world from the sins we commit everyday.
Grab your Bible and read Ephesians 2: 1-10.
Verses 1-3: Basically what is being told to us is before we accept Jesus as out Savior we are virtually dead, dead in our sins. We followed the ways of the world. None of us were exempt from this, we all were looking to appease our sinful cravings, we followed only our desires and thoughts, not God’s. We were never happy or satisfied, we may have thought we were happy, but we weren’t joyous with God’s spirit.
Verses 4-10: Even though we lived in sinful ways God still loved us. He was able to open hearts up to him and become alive in him. He brought us up from the depths of our sin to be with him. He showed us kindness we had never felt or experienced before. It was by HIS grace that we were saved and can live with him forever. We are God’s workmanship, we were created to good works for Christ Jesus, he gave us our works long before we even knew what they would be.
Jesus saved us from our sins, but we must accept him. I want to help as many people as I can find Jesus. Maybe your work is leading the girl who sits next to you in Math to Jesus or something as simple as helping the elderly woman next door. Spend sometime in prayer and ask God where what HE wants you to do in order to better serve him. After all it is the least we can do, he did send his Son for us.
